Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Design Engineer Position

  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal design teams to determine mechanical applications and requirements.
  • Determine project specifications in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Conduct thorough research to inform the design and engineering methods required for the mechanical systems.
  • Plan and execute mechanical designs using computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and 3D modeling programs.
  • Perform simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine the designs.
  • Oversee the development and production of physical prototypes for testing.
  • Document the design process, iterations, and test results.
  • Liaise with designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure consistency.
  • Prepare technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum one year of experience as a mechanical design engineer.
  • Proficiency with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Rhino etc.
  • Solid knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Ability to stay current with advancements in technology and engineering design trends.
