Cloud Optimization Program Lead

This leadership role drives the execution of cloud cost optimization initiatives across engineering, analytics, and financial operations workstreams. Ideal candidates have experience in program management, FinOps, enterprise IT delivery, or cloud financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a multi-phase cloud optimization program with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and maintain an optimization backlog and use case register.
  • Define and track key performance indicators for cost efficiency, utilization, and forecast metrics.
  • Coordinate resource planning, commitment governance, and tagging strategy alignment.
  • Oversee the creation and rollout of dashboards, reports, and stakeholder enablement materials.
  • Partner with product owners to validate optimization actions and ensure forecast re-alignment.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and stakeholder meetings to maintain program visibility and accountability.
  • Manage the program budget, sprint plans, resource allocations, and delivery milestones.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in cloud program management, FinOps, enterprise IT delivery, or cloud financial operations, with a proven track record of managing programs or portfolios involving multi-cloud cost optimization, cloud resource planning, or IT financial management.

Requirements:

  • Strong familiarity with cloud pricing models, cost structures, and optimization strategies.
  • Understanding of cloud tagging, chargeback/showback models, reserved instance planning, and enterprise cloud budgeting.
  • Experience facilitating Agile/SAFe ceremonies and cross-functional planning in globally distributed teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to interpret and manage KPIs, savings realization metrics, and financial thresholds.
