Senior Mainframe Database Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Mainframe Database Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and other mainframe technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and performance tuning in DB2.
  • Analyze user requirements and translate them into system specifications and technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, unit testing, system integration testing, and UAT support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, QA, and Infrastructure teams.
  • Evaluate high quality and timely delivery of software solutions.
  • Manage batch processing, data migration, and data reconciliation tasks as needed.
  • Provide production support and troubleshoot DB2-related performance and data issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation and adhere to coding standards and compliance policies.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 6 to 13 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe development.
  • Strong expertise in COBOL, DB2, JCL, and CICS.
  • Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL queries and DB2 stored procedures.
  • Experience in batch and online processing on IBM Mainframe systems.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
