The role of Sr Staff EHS Engineer involves overseeing a range of Environmental, Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance with national and local laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all Environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are adhered to, regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated to employees.
- Monitor and implement applicable statutory requirements for legal compliance.
- Assess risks and unsafe conditions in engineering labs and develop mitigation measures to control risks.
- Document, investigate, and implement recommended improvements for all incidents.
- Conduct annual audits and workplace/lab safety inspections, food safety inspections, etc., in coordination with stakeholders.
- Support the Emergency Response Team program and plan emergency response strategies.
- Develop and implement a structured EHS training matrix at the site and coordinate EHS training programs.
- Provide regular reports on relevant health and safety activities to senior management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Must possess a recognized degree in Environmental Safety Engineering or an equivalent engineering stream.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in corporate manufacturing service industry plant EHS coordination level.
- Familiarity with accident investigation and prevention, applied ergonomics expertise, and in-depth understanding of Indian regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in EHS related field or PG Diploma in Industrial Safety.
- Internationally recognized accredited safety professional certification or credential.
- Experience working in a large matrixed organization and leadership role with direct reports.
