Purchasing Specialist Position

About the Job: The Purchasing Specialist will oversee procurement processes, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Strategy: Develop strategic sourcing and procurement plans to guarantee timely material and service availability, aligned with organizational goals.
  • Negotiations: Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
  • Supplier Performance Evaluation: Assess supplier performance based on quality, delivery, cost, and responsiveness.
  • Internal Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with departments (e.g., Production, NPD, Stores, Finance) for demand forecasting and supply chain strategy alignment.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and analyze key procurement metrics (cost savings, lead times, etc.).

Purchase Order Management: Oversee timely issuance of purchase orders and ensure delivery of goods and services. Monitor placed orders and handle delays or issues that arise.

Vendor Relationship Management: Establish strong vendor relationships for smooth procurement processes. Address vendor-related issues, including delivery discrepancies or product quality concerns.

Import/Export Operations: Manage all import/export operations, including documentation, licensing, HS code classification, and customs regulations compliance. Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, and regulatory authorities for cargo clearance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Data analysis ability.
