Our organization seeks an exceptional Freelance Business Development Head to spearhead the expansion of our petrochemicals vertical, focusing on oil rigs and exploration assets. This strategic role requires a seasoned professional with 15+ years of experience in business development, M&A, or strategy within the petrochemicals/oil & gas sector.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of deal-making, particularly with international assets or companies. A deep understanding of upstream oil & gas operations, especially rig operations, is essential. They should also possess a strong global network in the petrochemical space, especially in coastal countries with active oil rigs.

To succeed in this role, you will require excellent negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. An MBA or relevant technical qualification is preferred. The Freelance Business Development Head will be responsible for:

  • Identifying, evaluating, and pursuing strategic acquisition opportunities, particularly underperforming oil rigs in India and internationally
  • Driving M&A strategy end-to-end – target identification, due diligence, financial evaluation, negotiations, and integration
  • Developing and maintaining a robust pipeline of potential acquisition targets in coastal regions globally
  • Leveraging existing network and building strategic relationships with key stakeholders in the global petrochemical and oil exploration sector
  • Collaborating with internal cross-functional teams – legal, finance, technical – to execute deals smoothly
  • Monitoring and assessing market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to identify new growth avenues
  • Representing the organization at international forums, trade shows, and industry conferences
  • Working closely with the leadership team to align expansion strategies with overall business objectives
