As a market leader in the field of illiquid portfolio analysis, you will work with clients to value alternative investments for which there are no active market quotations available. Our team provides bespoke investment structures and asset classes that are unparalleled in the industry.We are seeking a highly skilled consultant to join our Financial Instruments and Technology group. As a consultant, you will provide valuation advisory services to the alternative investment community including private equity, venture capital funds, credit and hedge funds, corporations, pensions, endowments, and family offices. Your expertise will be invaluable in assisting these clients with valuation issues surrounding their alternative investments.The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include developing deep technical strength in the valuation of alternative assets, reviewing investment memoranda, governing documents of structured investments, board of directors' presentations, and client models. You will also assist the team with interviewing clients, preparing information request lists, participating in face-to-face meetings, gathering data and information pertinent to the engagement, and designing financial models for discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction and option pricing analyses.You will perform valuation analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments broadly distributed across industries and geographies using accepted and relevant approaches and theory. Additionally, you will compile statistical summaries of companies' financial information, develop and compute financial ratios, and present the analyses in an organized manner using our standard formats and presentations.Essential traits for this role include a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics or equivalent thereof, minimum 1-3 years of valuation experience constructing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models, experience with credit analysis or structured securities experience, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, verbal and written communication skills, and excellent understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats and limitations.This is a unique opportunity to join a leading solutions provider for asset managers, hedge funds, fund administrators, banks, insurers, private equity firms, commodity trading and investment firms, and corporations.
