High-Performance Computing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to administer high-performance computing (HPC) clusters and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).

  • Administer HPC clusters, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Manage user accounts for HPC onboarding and offboarding, ensuring secure access and compliance with regulations.
  • Create and maintain Amazon Machine Image (AMI) accounts, configuring and deploying AMIs as needed.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on HPC clusters, ensuring seamless integration with other systems.
  • Support HPC necessary components and native services, collaborating with providers such as EFPortal, AWS RES, CycleCloud, and AWS Parallel Cluster.
  • Provide AWS Managed Active Directory support and management, ensuring secure authentication and authorization.
  • Perform continuous upgrades to the HPC platform and related components, including OS, Java, Python, and EFPortal.
  • Implement and maintain necessary compliance controls, conducting regular audits and implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Coordinate with other teams, such as v-drive, to test and migrate engineering applications to the platform.
  • Manage job schedulers, such as Slurm or LSF, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Utilize node provisioning tools, like Werewolf, to streamline deployment and management.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide technical support to users, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Monitor system performance, ensuring optimal operation of the HPC environment.
  • Collaborate with IT professionals to integrate new technologies into the existing infrastructure, driving innovation and growth.

We seek a progressive professional with experience in HPC administration, preferably in a Redhat/CentOS Linux environment. Knowledge of AWS Cloud formation templates to build infrastructure for HPC and storage is also desirable.
