Research Scientist

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute synthetic routes for drug discovery programmes
  • Track SAR and optimize potency, selectivity, and properties of small molecules
  • Perform purification and structural characterization of compounds
  • Troubleshoot synthetic problems and optimize reaction conditions
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior colleagues
  • Maintain accurate lab records and contribute to technical reports
  • Collaborate with analytical teams as needed
Qualifications and Skills
  • Skilled in multistep organic synthesis, reaction optimization, and compound isolation
  • Proficient in chromatography (TLC, column, flash), spectroscopic analysis (NMR, LC-MS, HPLC), and purification techniques (recrystallization, precipitation)
  • High level of creativity and productivity with strong synthetic chemistry problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in organic synthesis, conversant with the current literature
  • Effective oral and scientific/technical writing communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Commitment to lab safety and adherence to safety protocols
