Your primary responsibility will be to dissect and transform legacy .NET code that handles critical integrations with our platform, re architecting it as resilient, scalable, and cloud-native Java services. You will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing our event-handling stack, moving away from a central .NET message broker to a distributed system built on Google Cloud Platform.

The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking engineer who excels at understanding complex systems, takes ownership of their work from development to production, and is eager to leverage modern tools, including AI, to accelerate our migration efforts.

Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities

1. Design & Development: Architect, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable Java Spring Boot microservices.

2. Legacy Code Transformation: Analyze existing .NET code that integrates with our loan servicing platform, comprehend its business logic, and lead its transformation to the new Java stack.

3. Event-Driven Architecture: Decommission our legacy .NET message broker and implement a modern event-driven system using cloud-native technologies like Google Cloud Pub/Sub.

4. Cloud-Native Solutions: Develop and deploy services using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies, including Cloud Functions, Spanner, and Firestore.

5. Code Quality & Deployment: Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. Own the entire development lifecycle, demonstrating confidence in taking features to production through a robust CI/CD pipeline.

6. System Analysis: Go beyond the user story to develop a deep understanding of the entire system, identifying dependencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

7. AI-Powered Migration: Utilize AI-based tools and methodologies to assist in the analysis, translation, and refactoring of legacy .NET code, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of the migration.

Requirements & Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development, with a strong emphasis on enterprise-level systems.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework.
  • Professional experience with .NET (C#), with a demonstrated ability to read, understand, and reverse-engineer legacy codebases.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically with services like Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Spanner, and/or Firestore.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven design patterns.
  • Proven experience working with message brokers and event streaming platforms (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, GCP Pub/Sub).
  • Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
