Production Engineer Job Description

The Production Engineer is responsible for reviewing and extracting materials in the form of MTO on specific projects. They must prepare and verify detailed production packages including 3D models, ensuring that structural designers are carrying out their assigned tasks as per project schedule requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will need to enhance or improve related activities or assignments in order to reduce cost and man-hours consumption. You must also identify changes to client design drawings and report to your direct supervisor. Additionally, you will follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

It is essential to follow information Security Rules and data security measures to protect company information/intellectual properties. The ideal candidate should be able to generate complete discipline drawings with Engineers' supervision and demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks within assigned projects and meet required deadlines.

Skills and Qualifications

This role requires the following skills and qualifications:

  • Capability of making, reading, and following project schedules.
  • Coordinate and teach structural designers to ensure that department-related standards are strictly followed.
  • Prepare and verify detailed production packages including 3D models.
  • Ensure that structural designers are carrying out their assigned tasks as per project schedule requirements.
  • Enhance or improve related activities or assignments in order to reduce cost and man-hours consumption.
  • Good technical competency and ability to generate reports with status of assigned team/tasks.
Education Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following education qualifications:

  • Draughtsman Diploma from a recognized institute. Bachelor/Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent will be preferable.
  • 5 years and above relevant experience in using software such as Tekla and Cadmatic inside of production engineering office for similar shipyards.
  • 8-12 years and above on similar position is a must.
