The Role: Surveillance Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Surveillance Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial real estate financing, structured finance, and/or credit ratings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Population of Underwriting Models: Assist senior analysts in the re-underwriting of loans by locating property financial statements, populating templates, researching data anomalies, and communicating with senior staff on open items or issues.
  • Population of Ratings Models: Prepare models for use by senior staff, identify necessary overrides, and research anomalies. Communicate with third-party providers to gather additional information on deals/loans before moving them to the committee.
  • Periodic Portfolio Reviews: Compile and prepare periodic portfolio reports for senior staff. Identify material changes and research the causes.
  • Operational Support: Complete administrative tasks as needed, including organizing outside requests, reviewing offering documents, reviewing third-party sites for loan and deal information, and performing various other tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of related experience is required.
  • A master's degree is required, with CFA or FRM preferred.
  • Fluent in English, with above-average verbal and written proficiency.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on problem-solving.
  • Excellent quantitative/qualitative analytical skills.
