Job Title: Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day technical operations and ensure vessel seaworthiness.

About the Role:

  1. Oversight of daily technical operations, ensuring vessels meet international safety standards.
  2. Analyzing performance reports, identifying defects, and implementing prompt closures.
  3. Monitoring Performance Management System (PMS) compliance and proposing improvements.
  4. Preparing operational budgets and controlling operating costs.
  5. Maintaining validity of certifications and documentation, liaising with relevant authorities as necessary.
  6. Coordinating procurement of spares and critical equipment for optimal cost-effectiveness.
  7. Planning and supervising dry-docking, repairs, and major maintenance projects.
  8. Providing technical guidance and training to onboard crew members.
  9. Conducting periodic physical inspections to assess vessel condition and adherence to international maritime standards.
  10. Investigating incidents, implementing corrective actions, and proposing procedural improvements.

Requirements:

  • 10-12 years in the shipping industry on large sea-going vessels with international trading experience.
  • At least 2 years of shore experience as a Superintendent or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of TMSA requirements.
  • Experience working on cranes and grabs (for bulk carriers).
  • Familiarity with marine engineering preferred.
