Job Overview:

The AI applications engineer serves as a key player in the implementation and governance of artificial intelligence tools. This position is crucial in ensuring that AI initiatives are executed with precision, security, and compliance, ultimately enhancing technological capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure data privacy controls to prevent sensitive data training and enforce zero-retention policies.
  • Deliver comprehensive audit logs and compliance reporting for AI usage.
  • Implement robust guardrails and moderation tools for enhanced security and reliability of AI applications.
  • Track model performance and usage metrics, producing regular reports for leadership.
  • Optimize prompt engineering and evaluate cost/performance trade-offs.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to API calls, latency, and integration failures.
  • Maintain internal admin guides and knowledge bases for developers and end users.
  • Develop training sessions for IT staff on managing AI tools.
  • Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for AI-related incidents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in AI applications engineering or a related role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AI tools, particularly those related to large language models.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy controls and compliance requirements.
