Leadership Opportunity in Financial Markets

We seek a visionary leader to head the Centre, driving impactful outcomes through strategic initiatives, academic programs, and operational excellence.

  • Job Purpose:
  1. Lead the strategic direction of the Centre: Formulate and execute long-term vision and strategy aligned with the Centre's mandate in financial markets research and education.
  2. Drive interdisciplinary collaborations: Build partnerships with financial institutions, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other organizations to advance the Centre's goals.
  • Education and Research Program Management:
  1. Support research projects: Provide necessary resources for research initiatives, working papers, and publications in financial markets and related areas.
  2. Foster faculty-led research: Support academics in conducting cutting-edge research, engaging students, and hosting visiting scholars.
  3. Organize training programs: Develop and deliver workshops, seminars, conferences, and certificate courses to enhance knowledge and skills in financial markets.
  • Industry and Stakeholder Engagement:
  1. Establish partnerships: Collaborate with financial institutions, statutory bodies, regulatory institutions, industry associations, and other organizations to advance the Centre's objectives.
  2. Host industry events: Organize seminars, panel discussions, and talks/lectures by industry experts to foster knowledge sharing and networking opportunities.
  • Operational Oversight:
  1. Manage Centre operations: Oversee day-to-day administration, budgeting, reporting, and resource planning to ensure efficient Centre functioning.
  2. Supervise staff: Lead a team of support staff, interns, and research associates to achieve Centre objectives.
  • Communication and Outreach:
  1. Enhance Centre visibility: Develop and implement strategies to increase online and offline presence, including publications, newsletters, and website updates.
  2. Represent the Centre: Participate in conferences, academic forums, and industry meetings to promote the Centre's mission and objectives.

Desired Profile:

  • Qualifications: Masters or Ph.D. degree in Finance, Economics, Management, or related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 15 years of experience in academic and/or research institutions, regulatory institutions, financial services companies, industry associations, or other relevant organizations.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage academic and research programs, excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Academic background: Experience with academic institutions or research centres.
  • Professional network: Strong professional network in finance or policy domains.
  • Fundraising skills: Familiarity with grant writing, fundraising, and donor engagement.
