Leap is a leading non-custodial multi-chain wallet with over 1 million installs across our extension, mobile and web products. Beyond the core wallet, our products include MetaMask Snap for Cosmos, Compass Wallet for Sei, and Elements SDK. Backed by prominent investors, Leap has established strong product-market fit across multiple verticals.

We are now building a new 0-1 stablecoin payments initiative. Stablecoins are one of the fastest growing categories in crypto, with clear product market fit in payments and cross-border use cases. Global players are investing heavily in this space. Our idea is focused on APAC, where we have a strong foothold. Early experiments and customer conversations have shown strong market pull, and we are now setting up the right team to scale.

Role Overview

As an Engineering Lead/Manager, you will own engineering for the entire stablecoin initiative — spanning both the application and infrastructure layers. You'll lead a small engineering team while staying hands-on building backend systems that scale securely and reliably. A big part of the role will be designing and maintaining integrations with on/off-ramp providers across geographies, many of which lack mature APIs or documentation. You will lead technical discussions, define architecture, and ensure our systems remain robust on top of fragmented provider infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead backend development of web and mobile applications
  • Design and scale backend systems powering payments and settlements
  • Build solid, reliable infra on top of fragmented provider APIs across markets
  • Lead technical discussions and own architecture for integrations and scaling
  • Mentor and manage a small engineering team across infra + app layers
  • Ensure security, scalability, and regulatory readiness in architecture
  • Own delivery timelines and establish engineering best practices

Requirements

  • 6+ years of backend engineering experience
  • Strong skills in TypeScript/Node.js, and API design
  • Background in fintech or payments strongly preferred
  • Experience building integrations with external APIs/partners across geographies
  • Track record of leading small teams and scaling early-stage systems
