Cyber Security Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive cyber security professional to design, implement and maintain robust security measures that protect our systems, networks and data.

This role requires strong expertise in threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and security best practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, DevOps and Compliance, to ensure end-to-end cyber security across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement innovative security solutions to safeguard IT infrastructure, applications and sensitive data.
  • Proactively monitor networks and systems for potential security breaches, anomalies and emerging threats.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive incident response plans; lead response efforts to security incidents.
  • Perform thorough risk assessments and recommend strategic mitigation strategies to minimize exposure.
  • Configure and manage advanced security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, virtual private networks and other security devices.
  • Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to integrate security into DevSecOps practices and ensure seamless security integration throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Maintain and update detailed security documentation, runbooks and technical reports to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Educate employees and developers on cyber security awareness, secure coding practices and industry-leading security standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • In-depth understanding of network, application and cloud security concepts, as well as relevant regulations and compliance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, firewalls and vulnerability scanners.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python, Bash and PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with industry-leading security tools, including Splunk, Tenable, Qualys and Wireshark.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, such as NIST, CIS and ISO 27001, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications, such as CEH, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, OSCP or GIAC.
  • Experience with cloud security, container security, Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices and Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
