Cloud Storage Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Storage Expert to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud-based infrastructure and services.

Your primary focus will be on developing, deploying, and maintaining highly available and scalable storage systems using Ceph, ZFS, and NFS technologies.

You will work closely with our development and SRE teams to ensure seamless CI/CD and infrastructure reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Distributed Storage Systems: Design, implement, and maintain distributed storage systems including Ceph, ZFS, and NFS for use across hybrid and cloud-native environments.
  • Troubleshooting and Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to storage, networking, and container orchestration systems.
  • Monitoring and Logging: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for infrastructure using tools like Prometheus.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with development and SRE teams to ensure seamless CI/CD and infrastructure reliability.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in on-call rotation and incident response.
  • Documentation: Document architectural decisions, standard operating procedures, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles.
  • Ceph Administration: Proficient with Ceph (RADOS, RBD, CephFS) and ZFS administration.
  • NFS Experience: Solid experience managing NFS servers and performance tuning.
  • Kubernetes Knowledge: Preferred knowledge of Kubernetes internals, networking, and cluster lifecycle management.
  • Container Runtimes: Experience with container runtimes (Docker, containerd), Helm, etc.
  • Cloud Providers: Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Rook-Ceph Operator: Experience using the Rook-Ceph operator for Kubernetes.
  • CSI Storage Drivers: Knowledge of CSI storage drivers and volume provisioning in Kubernetes.
  • Certifications: Certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or RHCSA are a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering.

The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of cloud-based technologies, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
