Security Operations Center Specialist

As a highly skilled Security Operations Center (SOC) specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical and functional support to the L1 team with analytical feedback.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate incidents, collect evidence, diagnose, recover within defined service level agreements, and close incidents.
  • Understand information security policies and best practices in environments.
  • Inform management on proactive and reactive actions to ensure adherence to security policy.
  • Review metrics from monitoring systems, be aware of patterns and anomalies, and perform incident response.
  • Eliminate network threats, determine cause while preserving evidence, and ensure consistent handling of incidents.
  • Monitor security information and event management systems and logging for alerts of potential network threats and intrusions.
  • Participate in active cyber hunting to identify and eliminate known and unknown network threats.
  • Interface with technical personnel to resolve critical issues and inform leadership of incidents.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of industry-recognized analysis frameworks (Kill Chain, Diamond Model, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST Incident Response, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cloud computing fundamentals, endpoint detection and response, data loss prevention, firewall, and thorough understanding of fundamental security and network concepts.
