Job Title: Senior Accountant

The primary objective of a senior accountant is to oversee the accounting and financial operations of an organization. This involves ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, preparing and verifying financial documents, and managing cash control.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and verifying purchase and sales bills;
  • Managing cash control, voucher preparation, and daily transaction entries in accounting books/ERP;
  • Processing creditor payments via NEFT/RTGS;
  • Handling LC documentation and liaising with bankers for daily operations;
  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliation statements (BRS);
  • Computing salaries and wages, maintaining salary and attendance registers;
  • Preparing monthly stock statements for banks (cash credit facility);
  • Assisting in finalizing accounts (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow);
  • Drafting official letters related to accounts and statutory matters;
  • Preparing management information system (MIS) reports;

Statutory compliances involve income tax (TDS computation & payment, e-filing of returns, issuing Form 16/16A, advance tax computation, ITR filing), GST (registration, amendments, challan generation, filing of GSTR-1 & GSTR-3B, annual returns, refunds, audits, and E-Way bills), PF & ESI (monthly contributions, UAN generation, transfers/withdrawals, employee registration under PF/ESI), and legacy compliances (VAT/CST, Excise Duty – filing, reconciliations, and audit support).

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A minimum B.Com degree in accounting or finance;
  • Preferred: M.Com or specialization in finance/accounts;
  • Strong knowledge of Indian taxation, GST, TDS, PF/ESI, and statutory compliance;
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Tally, and ERP systems;
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple statutory timelines.
