Database Administrator Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead the design, setup and configuration of Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Servers for enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing Cassandra database clusters hosted on virtual machines and be proficient in database automation using tools such as Jenkins, Terraform and scripting languages like Bash and Python.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, setup and configure Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Servers for enterprise applications.
  • Manage Cassandra database clusters hosted on VMs, including setup, configuration, tuning and lifecycle operations.
  • Lead and execute database migration projects: PostgreSQL migration from AWS RDS to Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server and Cassandra data migration from AWS-hosted clusters to Azure VM clusters.
  • Perform regular performance tuning, query optimization and capacity planning.
  • Design and implement high availability, disaster recovery and backup/restore strategies.
  • Automate operational tasks using Jenkins, Terraform and scripting languages.
  • Implement and monitor robust logging and alerting for proactive issue detection and resolution.
  • Ensure database security and compliance through proper access control, encryption and auditing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven expertise in Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server: setup, configuration, performance tuning, administration and lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience managing Cassandra clusters on virtual machines.
  • In-depth understanding of backup/restore strategies, replication, disaster recovery planning and migration techniques.
  • Strong proficiency in database automation using tools such as Jenkins, Terraform and scripting languages.
  • Experience with database security, cloud security, including authentication, authorization, encryption and auditing.
  • Ability to handle enterprise-scale database environments with high reliability and availability requirements.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage zero-downtime upgrades and maintenance activities.
