Okta Identity Specialist

This role involves acting as a technical expert and advisor for all Okta-related solutions within the organization.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in designing, configuring, and implementing Okta Identity Cloud features including SSO, MFA, Lifecycle Management, Universal Directory, and API access management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and support for Okta solutions across various projects.
  • Develop and implement Okta Identity Cloud features to enhance authentication, authorization, and provisioning processes.
  • Integrate Okta with various applications using SAML, OIDC, SCIM, and other protocols.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, engineering teams, and security leads to define access control strategies and identity workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to authentication, authorization, and provisioning.
  • Conduct health checks, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning of Okta environments.
  • Document configuration guides, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
  • Stay current with industry trends and Okta product developments.

Requirements:

  • At least 3+ years of experience with Okta Identity Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of SSO, MFA, OAuth2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and API security.
  • Experience with Okta Workflows, custom scripting, and identity automation.
  • Familiarity with integrating Okta with cloud services.
  • Understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with adjacent IAM tools like SailPoint or CyberArk.
  • Scripting skills for automation and customization.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices.

Desirable Skills:

  • Okta certifications.
  • Experience with cloud-native IAM practices.
