Nakshatra Systems seeks a skilled Linux software repository maintainer to ensure the integrity of our software repository through updates, upgrades, and patches.

Responsibilities
  • Service and manage the software repository with proficiency in Linux, bash scripting, C, and Python.
  • Compile and create software from source code, knowledgeable in GCC and its flags.
  • Understand and maintain software dependencies.
  • Patch software by creating, providing, or managing patches.
  • Develop Makefiles as necessary and review changes.
  • Monitor and stay current with CVEs, maintaining changelogs and documentation.
  • Provide bug fixes, debug using GDB if needed, and connect with upstream developers for solutions.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Linux, bash scripting, C, and Python.
  • Knowledge of build system tools like autotools, Meson, Ninja, CMake, make, pkg-config, SCons, and CVS/GIT.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to resolve tasks within specified deadlines.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of Slackware Linux is highly valued.
