Paediatric Oncology Nutritionist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Paediatric Oncology Nutritionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nutrition care to children with cancer and haematological disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage both out-patient and in-patient care in the Paediatric Oncology and Haematology departments, ensuring seamless transitions and coordination of patient care.
  • Assess children's health and nutritional needs following established guidelines, including anthropometric measurements such as height, weight, and BMI.
  • Develop individualized diet plans for each child based on their medical condition, growth, and development needs, involving both the child and family.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of counselling sessions for impact mapping, monitoring, evaluation, and case study development.
  • Conduct weekly group counselling sessions and parent support meetings to promote good food habits and emotional support.
  • Distribute nutritional aid at hospitals (ration kits, eggs, bananas, milk, etc.) initiated by the organization.
  • Participate actively in training programs and meetings organized by our institution and demonstrate openness to ongoing learning and evaluations.
  • Stay updated with current research and advancements in nutritional science.
  • Collaborate with hospital doctors and nurses while reporting progress regularly to the team lead.
  • Ensure high levels of patient satisfaction, quality care, and compliance with medical and organizational standards.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with children and families affected by cancer and haematological disorders. A strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and a willingness to continuously learn and develop professionally are essential requirements for this role.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in paediatric oncology nutrition or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of paediatric nutrition and oncology principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
