Job Title: Senior Performance Testing Engineer

Department: IT/Quality Assurance

Job Summary:

The Senior Performance Testing Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of performance testing strategies and solutions to ensure the scalability, reliability, and responsiveness of applications. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize system performance. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in performance testing, strong technical skills, and the ability to architect comprehensive testing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and define the performance testing strategy and framework, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.

- Create performance testing plans, including scope, objectives, schedules, and resource allocation.

- Evaluate and recommend performance testing tools and technologies to meet project needs.

Test Design & Development:

- Architect, design, and implement performance test cases, scripts, and scenarios for web, mobile, and desktop applications.

- Design and develop load, stress, scalability, and endurance tests to validate system performance under various conditions.

- Involved in developing load and performance test scripts using Web Services, Java, and Microservices architecture.

Execution & Monitoring:

- Lead the execution of performance tests, analyze test results, and identify performance bottlenecks.

- Monitor system performance during tests and provide real-time feedback to development teams.

- Use performance monitoring tools to gather metrics and assess the system's performance under load.

Analysis & Reporting:

- Analyze performance test results to identify trends, patterns, and root causes of performance issues.

- Generate detailed performance reports, including recommendations for performance tuning and optimization.

- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including development teams, project managers, and executives.

Collaboration & Leadership:

- Work closely with development, operations, and QA teams to integrate performance testing into the development lifecycle.

- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior testers and engineers on performance testing best practices.

- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies in performance testing and share knowledge with the team.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 5 years focused on performance testing.

- Proven experience as a Performance Testing Architect or similar role, with a strong background in performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, etc.).

Technical Skills:

- Strong understanding of performance testing methodologies, best practices, and tools.

- Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or similar.

- Experience with performance monitoring tools (e.g., Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic).

- Knowledge of cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their impact on performance testing.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating performance testing into the DevOps process.

Soft Skills:

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
