Job Title: Linux Performance Expert

We are seeking a seasoned Linux Performance Expert to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing the performance of embedded and consumer platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement performance analysis and tuning strategies for Linux systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and efficiency
  • Design and implement benchmarking tools and workloads to measure system performance
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Linux performance optimization and apply that knowledge to improve system performance

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Linux performance analysis and tuning on embedded or consumer platforms
  • Deep understanding of Linux internals, including process scheduling, memory management, NUMA, file systems, block devices, I/O stack, etc.
  • Strong proficiency with performance tools, including perf, top, htop, vmstat, iotop, powertop, ftrace, strace, systemtap, LTTng, eBPF, systemd-analyze, bootchart, blktrace, oprofile
  • Experience with power-performance tuning frameworks, such as CPUFreq, devfreq, cpuidle, and thermal frameworks
  • Familiarity with kernel tuning interfaces, including /proc, /sys, cgroups, udev, sysctl
  • Skilled in C, Python, and shell scripting for automation and data processing
  • Experience with benchmarking tools and workloads, including Phoronix Test Suite, stress-ng, sysbench, fio, glmark2, etc.
  • Familiarity with hardware power domains, DVFS, thermal zones, and SoC power/thermal models is a plus
  • Experience with Yocto, Debian, or Ubuntu-based OS stacks and optimizing them for consumer-grade hardware (Intel/AMD/ARM)
