Procurement Specialist

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Purchase and procure spare parts, consumables, and technical equipment for vessels.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and high-quality products.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Efficiently process purchase requisitions from vessels and fleet management teams.
  • Timely order placement, tracking, and follow-ups.
  • Coordinate logistics and supply chain teams for timely delivery of goods to vessels worldwide.

Budgeting & Cost Control:

  • Monitor and control procurement budgets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Review and verify supplier invoices and ensure accurate documentation for payment processing.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure procurement activities are in compliance with maritime regulations and classification society requirements.
  • Maintain records of purchases, contracts, and vendor agreements.

Desirable Knowledge:

  • Understanding of vessel maintenance and dry-docking requirements.
  • Familiarity with international maritime regulations.
  • Proficiency in procurement and inventory management software.
  • Experience in international logistics and customs clearance for marine spares.

  • Negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
  • Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
