Our ideal candidate will be a seasoned Insurance Accounting Manager with extensive experience in managing accounting teams and overseeing month-end close processes.

This key role involves leading a team of Senior Accountants to analyze accuracy and reasonableness of monthly financial results, with a particular focus on insurance metrics, through variance analysis and discrepancy investigation at general ledger account level and financial statement line item level across legal entities, regions, and business units.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the activities of an accounting team, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, completion of month-end close processes, analysis of financial results, and preparation and review of reporting packages, with emphasis on insurance reserves, claims, premiums, and reinsurance transactions.
  • Lead a team of Senior Accountants to analyze accuracy and reasonableness of monthly financial results and KPIs, particularly related to insurance metrics.
  • Supervise the Global Business Service (GBS) team, provide training, perform detailed review to ensure work quality, and continuously improve GBS team's operational processes related to insurance accounting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
  • 7+ years of operational accounting experience in public accounting firm's audit and assurance service and/or Accounting Manager role in multinational corporation.
  • 5+ years of experience as people manager, leading at least 2 or more senior accountants.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP and public company audit requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Big 4 audit/assurance experience at manager level, with focus on insurance clients, and/or Accounting Manager with high-volume corporate environment with experience with prepaids.
