Job Title: Azure Data Support Lead

This is a leadership position that requires technical expertise and people management skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, providing technical guidance, and ensuring efficient handling of support activities.

About the Role:

  • The team leader will oversee the support operations for applications and pipelines built on Azure Databricks, PySpark, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Function Apps.
  • The role involves managing the monitoring and maintenance of Azure SQL databases and AKS deployments.
  • The team leader will review and debug Python-based scripts and PySpark jobs to resolve incidents and optimize performance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor a team of Level 1 and Level 2 engineers.
  • Assign tasks, track progress, and ensure SLA compliance for support tickets.
Technical Oversight:
  • Manage the support operations for applications and pipelines.
  • Review and debug Python-based scripts and PySpark jobs.
Incident Management and Escalation:
  • Serve as the escalation point for critical incidents and production issues.
  • Ensure root cause analysis (RCA) is conducted for recurring incidents and preventive measures are implemented.
Process Optimization and Automation:
  • Identify and implement improvements in support processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Leverage automation tools to reduce manual intervention and streamline operations.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development and operations.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to leadership and stakeholders on support performance metrics.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for support processes and incident resolutions.
  • Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops for the support team.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have a strong background in ITIL processes and incident management frameworks. You should also have experience working with Azure Databricks, PySpark, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Function Apps.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical degree is required. Proficiency in Python and PySpark is also essential.
