Job Title: Technical Leader

We are seeking a skilled Technical Leader to join our team. As a Technical Leader, you will be responsible for driving architectural solutions collaboratively with your team and engineering leadership to build and scale mobile products.

About the Team

Our Mobile team is responsible for developing and scaling customer-facing mobile applications that empower Australian businesses. Your new team works closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and others to build and enhance the Zeller Mobile App and Point of Sale products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive architectural solutions collaboratively with your team and engineering leadership.
  • Write production code regularly as a core contributor while maintaining oversight of your team's technical deliverables.
  • Own operational excellence for your team's systems including monitoring, incident response, and reliability improvements.
  • Champion modern development practices within your team.
  • Lead a team of 3 software engineers, identifying skill gaps, managing personal development plans, and fostering a positive culture of learning and ownership.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Owned solution design for complex features within mobile apps before.
  • Worked with applications used at scale or mission-critical to their customers.
  • Experience in product-driven companies, driving pace and delivery.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong self-learning drive, actively using and adapting workflows to incorporate generative AI tools.
Technical Background

As a Technical Leader, you will be comfortable writing production React Native code but experience with our full tech-stack is not expected. Some tools we use include:

  • React Native for cross-platform mobile development.
  • A modern graphql based api.
  • Extensive application monitoring tools such as Sentry, Datadog, Segment.
  • A serverless, event driven system architecture running on AWS.
