Enterprise Data Protection Specialist

We seek a seasoned Storage and Backup Systems Administrator to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-level data protection environments.
This key role involves administering backup systems, configuring policies, managing access controls, and optimizing storage utilization.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective backup strategies, including job scheduling, monitoring, and reporting using Veritas NetBackup, AutoSys, and related tools.
- Ensure seamless backup operations by managing credentials, certificates, GUI interfaces, and server configurations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to coordinate backup schedules, add or remove servers as needed, and optimize storage capacity.
- Perform data restoration and backups in server decommissioning scenarios, ensuring minimal business disruption.
- Manage tape operations, track inventory, and perform regular cleanup tasks to maintain efficient backup environments.
- Conduct performance analysis and optimize storage usage, eliminating obsolete data and logs.
- Stay up-to-date with software and firmware upgrades for storage and backup infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
- Support disaster recovery testing, planning, and execution to guarantee business continuity.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware maintenance, replacements, and escalated support.
- Proven expertise with Veritas NetBackup, AutoSys, and enterprise storage systems, including disk and tape-based solutions.
- Solid understanding of backup and recovery best practices, disaster recovery procedures, and media management.
- Proficiency in basic scripting languages such as PowerShell and Shell/Bash for automation tasks.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex backup/storage issues.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with attention to detail and process adherence.
