Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Ensure timely completion of inpatient duties, including IPD rounds with assistant doctors and sisters.
  • Initiate outpatient services, including consultations and counseling for OPD patients.
  • Perform IUI and sonography procedures as required.
  • Prescribe medication and requisition necessary items.
  • Participate in morning and evening IPD rounds to ensure patient care and file completeness.
  • Verify daily orders written by assistant doctors.
  • Monitor patient parameters and investigations.
  • Check monitoring charts.
  • Review IPD and OT consents for newly admitted patients.
  • Advise on necessary investigations and inform patients accordingly.
  • Address patient complaints and take corrective actions.

Operative Procedures:

  • Conduct scheduled operative procedures, including OPU, ET, and Hysteroscopy.
  • Ensure timely commencement of operative procedures.
  • Oversee pre-operative preparation by OT sisters according to the Pre-Op Checklist.
  • Participate in wash-up, assistance, or conduct OT procedures.
  • Record anaesthesia notes.
  • Document OT notes.
  • Provide post-operative orders to assistant doctors.
  • Conduct post-operative rounds immediately after patient transfer to ensure adherence to post-op orders.
  • Deliver post-operative counseling to patient relatives.
  • Verify software entries for post-operative findings by sisters and assistant doctors.
  • Determine discharge eligibility and request RMO to prepare discharge papers.
  • Ensure all IPD paperwork is completed by assistant doctors and sisters, verify documentation using checklists, and hand over files to HR.
  • Respond to emergency situations, seeking senior gynecologist support if complications arise.
  • Participate in camps and outreach OPDs.
  • Monitor and control all clinical staff.
