About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Corporate Technology Infrastructure team. This team provides the core working environment for our global staff, managing multi-Geography Azure tenants to deliver 'cloud-first' solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining LAN and WAN technologies, including firewalls, routers, switches, WiFi hotspots, VPNs, and VPN concentrators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve the business technology function with strong procedural automation tasks.
  • Manage computer networks globally and play a key part in the development and transition to centralized managed offices.
  • Manage, maintain, and improve the asset inventory and keep track of the tooling used to store that inventory.
  • Be a Technical Authority for Infrastructure and Corporate Technology IT services in the company.
  • Deliver a first-class, works-first-time, end-user experience.
  • Unify services through APIs, PowerShell, Automation, and integration services. Automate everything.
  • Design, implement, and operate SSO systems, automated identity management, and permissions schemes.
  • Document deliverables, including setup guides, configuration, and administration guides. Ensure there is a documented process for all things completed.
  • Work closely with Corporate-IT and Security functions to ensure the business achieves its security goals and accreditations.
  • Evaluate new technologies and processes with justification to allow effective decision-making for stakeholders.
  • Provide Business Continuity plans and operationalize the recovery strategy, including periodic testing.
  • Develop and maintain the end-to-end monitoring of systems, services, with a strong preference for being proactive above reactive.
  • Ad-hoc technical projects as required from time to time.
  • Liaison and engagement with third parties and integration to hosting and back-office systems.
  • Vendor liaison for technical solution engagements.
  • Providing mentoring and knowledge transfer to colleagues on all things Intelliflo, including our security standards, tools, and processes.
  • Lead knowledge transfer meetings with the view to bringing others to 'subject matter expert' standard as well as the transition of project work to BAU.
  • Own strategic projects and deliverables while providing documentation, ticket refinement, and the steps-to-implement as the subject matter expert.
  • Be the advocate of security to the highest quality and achieving first-class solutions to our global staff.
  • Own our values, norms, commitments, and purpose while pushing for team maturity and shared responsibility.

Requirements

  • Degree-level education in Computer Science or related engineering discipline; or more than 10 years' experience in an IT infrastructure role.
  • An unquenchable thirst for knowledge.
  • A strong belief that all tasks are automatable.
  • The ability to demonstrate day-to-day usage of engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, bash, or other scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with Terraform, Harness, or PowerShell DSC.
  • Enterprise networking, including Cisco and Palo Alto device management.
  • Excellent PowerShell scripting skills and understanding of how tasks should be automated, including leveraging APIs for integration.
  • Strong technical leadership.
  • Knowledge of Azure, Azure AD, AWS, Office 365.
  • Experience creating and managing documentation.
  • Microsoft Server platforms.
  • Managing Microsoft Cloud PCs.
  • A good understanding of TCP, UDP, ICMP, as well as various common network services and protocols.
  • Intune, Autopilot, MDM, MAM.
  • Understanding of version and source control systems.
  • Knowledge of SAML, SSO, and MFA.
  • Understanding of system hardening, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessment techniques for networks and web applications.
  • Backup and recovery methodologies.
  • Experience with log management systems like Splunk or ELK.
  • Working experience of Agile and SCRUM methodologies.
  • Microsoft Windows Server or Azure technical certifications.
  • Cisco and Palo Alto networking technologies.

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 per year, depending on experience
