Senior Data Engineer - Backend

We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer to build robust data pipelines, integrate external systems, and develop scalable interfaces.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend engineering with expertise in data processing, integration, and architecture. They will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data systems that are reliable, efficient, and secure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality data pipelines using Python (FastAPI, pydantic, httpx/requests) and Azure Functions/Container Apps or AKS jobs.
  • Design and implement database solutions using PostgreSQL, pgvector, and query design & performance tuning.
  • Integrate with HR4YOU (API/webhooks/CSV import), SerpAPI, BA job board, email/SMTP services.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers for exports (CSV/Excel, presigned URLs) and admin configuration.
  • Implement telemetry for data quality (freshness, duplicate rate, coverage, cost per 1,000 items).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of backend/data engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and Azure technologies.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and ETL/ELT patterns.
  • Familiarity with messaging systems, Service Bus/Queues, idempotence & exactly-once semantics.
  • Knowledge of clean code principles, testability (pytest), and observability (OpenTelemetry).
