Job Description">

The role of Operational Excellence Specialist is a vital part of our organization, focusing on improving operational effectiveness and profitability across our global manufacturing sites and processes.

This position will collaborate with site leadership teams and the Director of Operational Excellence to develop and lead a performance transformation aimed at enhancing operational excellence, systems, and driving a continuous improvement culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cost-saving projects through process efficiencies.
  • Create policies and establish standards for manufacturing excellence.
  • Establish OEE programs to track, identify, and eliminate lost production causes.
  • Conduct diagnostics to pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Use value stream mapping exercises to define processes and work with sites to implement or streamline/improve the use of LEAN tools, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Propose and support projects and programs within businesses for identifying improvement levers, setting smart objectives, and carrying out Manufacturing Excellence initiatives.
  • Support the execution of improvement projects by promoting proven tools and approaches to achieve manufacturing excellence.
  • Ensure sustainable improvements through training and skill-building of leaders.
  • Lead and mentor leadership team members, facilitating a motivating culture.


Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred; education with a scientific background highly desired.

Relevant Work Experience: BS/BA in a scientific or business discipline and at least 5-8 years' experience in project/program management, operational excellence / continuous improvement, or consulting required. Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology field and relevant MS/MBA (Project Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, etc.) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, Chemical Engineering preferred
  • Extensive previous experience in implementation of OE/CI projects in manufacturing (pharmaceutical preferred) environment.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Proven experience with Lean Six Sigma experience to drive business results
  • Strong technical skills
  • Impact and influence skills and strong experience in change management
  • Initiative
  • Project Management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in a scientific or business discipline
  • At least 5-8 years' experience in project/program management, operational excellence / continuous improvement, or consulting
