Our company seeks an experienced Development Accountant to join our U.S. property management team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and draw accounting.

This role will involve preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements for development projects, as well as maintaining accurate monthly and year-end closings.

  • Financial Reporting & Development Accounting
  • Process and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, and assets.
  • Prepare and review financial reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Payables & Cash Management
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate payment terms.
  • Process and approve payables, wire requests, and ensure timely disbursements.
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Process invoices and ensure proper coding and approvals.
  • Approve payables and set up wire requests.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Record rent and other receivables accurately and on time.
  • Monitor tenant ledgers and reconcile payments.
  • Operational Support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting queries.
  • Provide insights and support for property-related decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years of accounting experience in U.S. property management.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Yardi software.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge Areas: Development accounting, financial statements, and payroll processing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
