Firmware testing and development involve ensuring the highest quality of firmware by designing and executing test plans. As a skilled Firmware Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in this process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test Planning & Execution: You have experience in designing test cases, writing test plans, and executing manual and automated tests.
  • Bug Tracking & Reporting: You are familiar with using tools like Jira or Bugzilla to log, track, and communicate issues.
  • Root Cause Analysis: You have experience diagnosing failures and working with developers to isolate and fix issues.
  • Regression Testing: You ensure new firmware updates don't break existing functionality.
Technical Skills
  • Embedded Systems Knowledge: You have a solid understanding of embedded systems, including microcontrollers, sensors, and hardware interfaces like SPI, I2C, UART.
  • Programming Languages: You have basic knowledge of C or C++ and experience with programming languages is a plus.
  • RTOS & Embedded Linux: You have experience with Real-Time Operating Systems and Linux-based embedded platforms.
  • Debugging Tools: You are familiar with JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and firmware debugging techniques.
  • Version Control: You have experience using tools like Git for managing codebases and collaborating with developers.
Analytical & QA-Specific Skills
  • Communication: You can explain complex technical issues clearly to developers, managers, and stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: You collaborate across hardware, software, and QA teams to ensure product quality.
