Payroll Manager Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to manage end-to-end payroll processing for India.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee salaries, statutory compliance with Indian labor and tax regulations, and payroll-related reporting. The role requires strong attention to detail, thorough knowledge of Indian statutory laws, and effective coordination with multiple stakeholders to maintain payroll accuracy and compliance.

  • Manage monthly payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Validate and reconcile inputs such as attendance, leave records, new joiners, exits, salary revisions, and variable pay.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, gratuity and other applicable labor laws).
  • Handle employee queries related to salary, taxation, and payroll policies.
  • Prepare payroll MIS, reports, and analytics for management review.
  • Stay updated on changes in labor laws, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Support process automation, audits, and continuous improvement in payroll systems.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate or postgraduate degree in commerce, finance, or HR, preferably with an MBA or PGDM.
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in payroll management, with a proven track record of managing complex payroll processes.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, including SAP and ADP.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, with advanced formulas and reconciliation skills.
  • Knowledge of income tax and statutory compliance in India.
