About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a seasoned journalist to join our editorial team, specializing in covering ferroalloys and bulk ores markets.

As a senior price reporter, you will be responsible for gathering market intelligence and producing high-quality content on a weekly basis, with a particular focus on India.

You will work closely with our industry-leading journalists and price reporters to launch new ferroalloys and bulk ores price assessments, define price specifications, and gather market feedback.

In addition, you will generate news content on topical industry issues, such as regulatory developments, geopolitical issues, investment, project pipeline, and ESG.

Our ideal candidate has 2-4 years of experience in the steel or steel raw materials industries and/or markets, with a strong background in covering ferroalloys, bulk ores, or related markets.

You will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to present complex information effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.

A bachelor's degree in business or engineering is advantageous, but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report ferroalloys and bulk ore prices on a weekly basis, with a particular focus on India.
  • Help launch new ferroalloys and bulk ores price assessments, define price specifications, gather market feedback.
  • Generate news content on the ferroalloys and bulk ores markets, working closely with reporters in Africa and Europe.
  • Periodic pieces on topical industry issues (e.g. regulatory/policy developments, geopolitical issues, investment, project pipeline, ESG etc.).
  • Maintain strong client and industry relationships – ideally bringing these relationships from prior roles. Continually share and source market intelligence.
  • Engage actively in business development, assisting OPIS' account managers in the sales process through maintaining sales pipelines and assisting in the sales process.
  • Be a public face of McCloskey and OPIS in the ferroalloys space, via client/stakeholder engagements, industry presentations, media interviews, content marketing.
