Leasing Specialist with Commercial Real Estate Expertise

Salary Range: $60,000 - $90,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Leasing Analyst to join our team. As a Leasing Analyst, you will be responsible for performing lease administration activities, including abstracting critical information from various lease documents and entering the data into lease abstraction software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lease Abstracting: Abstract and interpret commercial lease documents such as leases, amendments, subleases, and termination agreements.
  • Data Entry: Input lease data into lease abstraction and accounting platforms with high accuracy.
  • Quality Control: Review and validate peer abstracts to ensure all critical lease data is accurately captured, including tenant billing information, lease dates, square footage, recurring charges, and lease options.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain necessary documentation related to development milestones, rent commencement notices, etc.
  • Tenant/Landlord Management: Maintain and update tenant/landlord naming and usage descriptions for reporting purposes.
  • Flagging and Escalation: Identify and flag items requiring additional information or follow-up with client stakeholders.
  • Training and Development: Coach and train new team members on the lease abstraction process.
  • Process Improvement: Develop workflows to improve overall abstraction accuracy for the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce (BCom) or a related field.
  • Proven experience in analyzing data and problem-solving.
  • Experience in lease abstraction work, preferably in commercial real estate (including retail).
  • Proficiency in lease abstraction/accounting platforms and software.
