Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain storage infrastructure to ensure availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop and execute storage capacity planning and provisioning strategies.
  • Configure and manage storage management software and utilities to automate storage administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor storage performance and resource utilization, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and optimizing data placement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data backup and recovery operations and data migration projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience.
  • ~8+ years of experience in Mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management.
  • ~8+ years of experience with storage management software and utilities such as DFSMS, DFSMSdss, and DFSMSrmm.
  • ~8+ years of experience with storage virtualization technologies and concepts, including DASD, VTS, and SAN/NAS storage provisioning.
  • ~8+ years of experience with storage networking protocols and technologies, such as FICON, Fibre Channel, and SCSI.
  • IBM Certified Specialist - Storage Technical V2 or equivalent certification in Mainframe storage administration.
  • ~5+ years of experience with Mainframe virtualization technologies such as z/VM and z/Linux.
  • ~4+ years of experience utilizing DevOps practices and tools for Mainframe storage administration and automation.
