Job Description

The role of a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technician is vital to ensuring the efficient operation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. This involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing HVAC equipment in accordance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, maintain and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioners, chillers, furnaces, air handlers and ventilation units.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of HVAC equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems and recommend effective solutions.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints and manufacturer specifications.
  • Adjust system controls to improve performance and ensure energy efficiency.
  • Test and balance air and hydronic systems to meet performance standards.
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records, documenting all work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes and environmental regulations.
  • Respond promptly to emergency service calls.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors and other technicians to resolve system issues.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical components and refrigeration cycles.
  • Ability to use HVAC tools, gauges and diagnostic equipment.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and occupational health regulations.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces and withstand varying weather conditions.
