Senior Backend Developer Job Description

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in software development, with a minimum of 8-15 years of experience in Java.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain high-quality backend services using Spring Boot and Hibernate/JPA.
  • Design and implement ETL pipelines using Apache Airflow or Spring Batch.
  • Work with data storage solutions like Snowflake to create and manage databases, connect and deploy databases, and perform query optimization.
  • Integrate messaging systems using Kafka or other enterprise messaging frameworks.
Technical Requirements:
  • A strong understanding of core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA APIs, JSON, Microservices architecture, and Spring frameworks.
  • Experience with SQL (MS-SQL, PostgreSQL), Snowflake, and NoSQL databases (Cosmos DB).
  • Proven expertise with Azure Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes (AKS).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.

This role involves working on complex enterprise applications, collaborating with architects, leads, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions.

The successful candidate will work across the microservices landscape in legacy and modernization projects, assigned to scrum teams within Pune, with potential for rotation between modules.

Requirements:
  • At least 8-15 years of software development experience in Java.
  • Expertise in core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA APIs, JSON, Microservices architecture, and Spring frameworks.
  • Strong experience with SQL (MS-SQL, PostgreSQL), Snowflake, and NoSQL databases (preferably Cosmos DB).
  • Proven experience with Azure Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes (AKS).
  • Enterprise messaging systems (Kafka).
  • CI/CD setup and troubleshooting (preferably Azure DevOps).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to change.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside normal hours.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of UI technologies (React JS, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3).
  • Financial/Banking experience.
  • Maven, Gradle, Git.
  • DB performance tuning and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
  • Control-M, Dynatrace, and ServiceNow.
  • Strong Unix commands and scripting skills.
