Job Title: Commercial Contract Specialist

A fast-paced and dynamic legal environment seeks a skilled Contract Negotiator to enhance the efficiency of commercial agreement reviews, increase revenue/sales performance, and optimize the legal team's operational effectiveness.

The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and maintaining various commercial contracts, ensuring accurate and compliant contract records, and building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and negotiating terms and conditions for order forms, professional service agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, data privacy agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other agreements.
  • Solving contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally within the organization.
  • Developing creative solutions and drafting alternative terms, working closely with attorneys within the Legal team.
  • Obtaining approval for non-standard terms in accordance with internal policies.
  • Educating internal teams to promote conformity and consistency in contract terms and legal obligations.
  • Contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of Legal administrative processes and legal documents.
  • Partnering with other internal teams to drive process and operational improvements and ensure an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • University level degree or equivalent with 4-6 years' experience negotiating legal terms & conditions directly with customers or vendors.
  • Training or education in law, paralegal skills, negotiation, or legal writing, including IAACM or similar certification.
  • Familiarity with media organizations is desirable.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Experience working with commercial contract management and a good understanding of contract and commercial law.
  • Experience managing complex issues and applying legal, financial, and business principles to contracting.
  • Adaptability, strong attention to detail, and superior organizational skills are essential.
