Job Overview

The Technical Services Manager plays a pivotal role in bridging market needs with internal functions, including R&D, production, and regulatory affairs. This position drives customer solutions, supports sales, and guides product development by delivering comprehensive technical support across segments within the Polymer business.

Main Responsibilities
  • Technical Service Delivery: Deliver expert formulation support for targeted segments to meet customer requirements.
  • Formulation Development: Develop and adapt formulations to cater to local market needs.
  • Technical Training: Conduct training sessions for customers, distributors, and internal teams on product applications and usage.
  • Competitive Analysis: Perform analysis of competitors and recommend strategies to stay ahead in the market.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to statutory and internal standards, maintaining high levels of quality and safety.
  • Lab Operations: Manage lab operations efficiently, upholding EHS and ISO requirements.
  • Customer Support: Resolve customer complaints and provide application troubleshooting services.
  • Lab Equipment Maintenance: Maintain lab equipment, calibrate instruments, and document results accurately.
  • Field Trials and On-Site Visits: Participate in field trials and conduct on-site customer visits as required.
  • Technical Contributions: Contribute to technical papers, exhibitions, and industry seminars, showcasing expertise and staying updated on market trends.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's or Bachelor of Engineering or Master's of Engineering in Chemistry preferred.
  • Experience: At least 8 years of formulation experience in Polymer dispersions/coatings with at least 2 years in a supervisory/people leadership role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Sound understanding of polymer science and standard test methods.
  • Customer Focus: Strong customer focus with the ability to provide prompt, practical solutions.
  • Market Insights: Deep knowledge of core markets, competitors, and emulsion polymer technology.
