Automation Engineer Position

Candidate requirements overview:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of industry experience is necessary.
  • Frequent travel approximately 50% annually is a requirement.
  • Hands-on field work comfortability is a must.
Key Technical Skills and Qualifications
  • Programming skills for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in Ladder Logic and Function Block Diagram (FBD) are essential.
  • PID programming and loop tuning expertise is required.
  • Communication protocols including Modbus, CC-Link, RS-232, Ethernet TCP/IP, Wireless, and IoT knowledge is needed.
  • MQTT protocol proficiency is preferred.
  • Experience with Mitsubishi, Siemens, Schneider platforms is expected.
  • IO list preparation and review skills are important.
  • SCADA/HMI development familiarity is advantageous.
  • Panel engineering knowledge is required.
Instrumentation & Electrical Expertise
  • Thermocouple, pressure, and level transmitters/switches understanding is necessary.
  • Proximity sensors and modulating valves expertise is required.
  • Instrumentation and control earthing knowledge is important.
  • Power earthing familiarity is beneficial.
  • Safety systems (SIL, interlocks) awareness is desired.
Site & Field Experience
  • Site commissioning experience is essential.
  • Hands-on panel wiring and termination skills are required.
  • Physical work willingness during setup is a must.
  • Multi-site execution experience is preferred.
Project & Managerial Capabilities
  • Team management or technician hands-on experience is necessary.
  • Industrial automation project hands-on experience is required.
  • Vendor coordination and procurement knowledge is important.
  • Project deliverables ownership is essential.
Documentation & Communication
  • Functional design specification (FDS) creation skills are required.
  • IO documentation and wiring diagrams preparation is necessary.
  • Control panel layout and GA review expertise is beneficial.
  • Reporting, email, and team communication skills are important.
  • Remote diagnostics/cloud integration exposure is desired.
