Senior Power Electronics Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power electronics and experience with high-speed or high-power semiconductor devices.

1. Define Technical Specifications: Develop detailed technical specifications for product hardware, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry standards.
2. Design and Firmware Reviews: Conduct thorough reviews of design and firmware control, focusing on system-level integration and optimization.
3. Development Monitoring and Test Planning: Monitor development progress, create test plans, and verify electrical, environmental, and functional compliance.
4. FMEA Analysis: Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis to evaluate reliability and ensure safety concerns are addressed.
5. Milestone Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to track and coordinate product development milestones.
6. Design Updates and ECNs: Oversee Design for Excellence updates, Engineering Change Notices, and product life cycle management.
7. Team Mentorship: Mentor engineers on design principles, ensuring adherence to established technical standards during product development.
8. New Development Concepts: Research and guide future product innovation through the identification of new development concepts.
9. Cost-Competitive Alternatives: Identify cost-competitive technological alternatives suitable for scaling up.
10. Design Validation: Validate design concepts through circuit simulations and prototyping.
11. Documentation Preparation: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including bills of materials, circuit diagrams, simulations, and design-related documents.

1. Master's Degree and Experience: A Master's degree in Power Electronics with 8-12 years of experience is required.
2. Closed-Loop Control and Compensator Design: Strong understanding of closed-loop control for power converters and compensator design is essential.
3. High-Speed or High-Power Semiconductor Devices: Experience with high-speed or high-power semiconductor devices, specifically power converter designs over 100kVA and in medium voltage applications, is required.
4. Solid Technical Knowledge: Solid technical knowledge, competence, and system-level design experience are necessary.
5. Project Management: Proven track record of managing multiple power electronics projects involving analog and digital electronics as well as control circuitry is required.
6. EMI Filter Design and Testing: Experience in EMI filter design and product qualification/compliance testing is desired.
7. Circuit Simulation Tools: Familiarity with circuit simulation tools like SIMULINK is necessary.
8. Derating, FMEA, and Reliability Analysis: Skills in derating, FMEA, and reliability analysis are essential.
9. Circuit Debugging and Troubleshooting: Excellent circuit debugging and troubleshooting capabilities are required.
10. Technical Documentation: Experience in writing technical documents such as hardware requirements, product design specifications, test specifications, and board-level design details is necessary.
11. Component Selection and System Integration: Strong knowledge of component selection and system integration is required.
12. Communication Skills: Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written, are essential.
13. Mentorship and Teamwork: Experience mentoring small teams with strong decision-making capabilities and the ability to work effectively in an agile product development model is desired.
