Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced API tester with a strong background in automation, cloud-native environments, and Kafka-based systems.

About the Role:

  • Design and execute automated functional and performance tests for REST APIs.
  • Validate messaging workflows within Kafka (producer to consumer).
  • Work in containerized platforms such as OpenShift or Kubernetes.
  • Utilize tools like Postman, JMeter, and custom automation frameworks.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Debug and validate using ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
  • Report defects and contribute to improving QA strategy.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in API testing and automation.
  • Strong expertise in REST API functional and performance testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Kafka (end-to-end message validation).
  • Cloud/container platforms: OpenShift or Kubernetes.
  • Tools: Postman, JMeter, Git.
  • CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps.
  • Log analysis with ELK.
  • Contract testing (Pact, Postman Contract Testing).
  • Scripting languages: Python, JavaScript, Shell.
  • Understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
