Job Opportunity:

Aerospace simulation and design are at the forefront of AI innovation, pushing the boundaries.

We seek an expert in advanced CFD simulations and aerodynamics who can set up, run, and analyze simulations for 2D airfoils, 3D wings, and full aircraft models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CFD Simulation: Set up, run, and analyze simulations in OpenFOAM for various flow regimes.
  • Solver Selection: Select solvers, turbulence models, and thermophysical models based on simulation needs.
  • MESH GENERATION: Generate high-quality meshes using OpenFOAM's native meshing tools or external pre-processors.
  • Automation: Develop and maintain Python scripts for automation of pre-processing, simulation control, and post-processing.
  • Aerodynamic Performance Metrics: Extract and interpret aerodynamic performance metrics, such as lift, drag, pressure distribution, and shock characteristics.
  • Validation: Validate results through comparison with experimental data or established literature.
  • Documentation: Document simulation setups, assumptions, and findings for internal use and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with OpenFOAM for aerodynamic simulations.
  • Strong knowledge of aerodynamics and fluid mechanics, including compressible and incompressible flows.
  • Ability to simulate complex geometries, including full aircraft configurations.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for CFD automation.
  • Experience with mesh generation tools compatible with OpenFOAM.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with hypersonic flow physics and related modeling techniques.
  • Experience in HPC environments and parallel computing.
  • Knowledge of turbulence and transition modeling.
  • Exposure to aircraft design or UAV aerodynamics.
  • Additional CFD software experience is a plus.
