Key Roles:

Accounting managers/controllers are responsible for overseeing the accounting functions of an organization.

  • A qualified or semi-qualified CA with completed articling training is required.
  • Hands-on experience in all stages of accounting, financial and management reporting is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and basic to advanced tools of Excel is required.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Accounting & Tax Laws, Canadian GAAP, IFRS is an asset.
  • Expertise in business intelligence and management report analytical tools is a plus.

The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, able to solve problems, meet deadlines, and have experience managing teams and software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, and Canadian Payroll Software.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of accounting including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian Accounting Standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve accounting processes.
  • Lead a team of accountants and provide guidance and support as needed.

Requirements:

  • CA designation (or equivalent) and completion of articling training.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations.
  • Fluency in multiple languages.
